Yeah unless you have a turbo, you shouldn’t need anything bigger than 2" my Integra had a 2.5 exhaust with a “twin loop” muffler, it wasn’t too bad. Those N1 style muffles really don't do anything, the cheap ones just make the car louder, you'd be better off with no muffler at all.

I have a shitty car with a very shitty exhaust, not custom shitty just old shitty. The exhaust being somewhat loud makes me feel slightly less depressed when I go through a tunnel or under an overpass and can make it loud. Maybe that is their goal?

The V6 300's and Chargers sound awful with big exhaust too. They are some of the worst. Nissan can make the VQ35 sound like magic and Dodge is over here with one of the worst sounds ever to leave a tailpipe.
